The Best Skyrim Graphic Mods That Make The Game Look Awesome Bethesda released The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim in November 2011. But, many players still enjoy the game. One reason is because of all the mods that fans have created and released over the years. Playing Skyrim for the very first time (i know it sounds embarrassing lol) though I've been on this subreddit for a while now but never really got the opportunity to play the game itself. Just sharing i guess people wouldn't care much but i'm very happy after many years i finally got to play it.
Consider removing this note. The justification is that I just finished this quest (PC version) and I was able to access the word wall and the chest as soon as the third vessel was removed from its stand. After acquiring the word and loot, I then returned to the antechamber and defeated Hevnoraak. In fact, I went back down after defeating Hevnoraak to see if maybe there was some OTHER goodies that were being talked about, but the spiked gate had returned to the up and locked position and I couldn't access the chest.--Fadamor 05:17, 14 December 2011 (UTC)
Starting this quest at lvl 10 i encountered both Draugr Deathlord and Draugr Scourge which makes this quest really hard for low level characters.

The 'walkthrough' needs to be a bit more detailed. Just a note. — Unsigned comment by 184.88.12.130 (talk) at 23:22 on 22 May 2012
I played through this dungeon at level 33 and found that Hevnoraak is actually really easy if your stuff is okay. One of the Draugr Deathlords in the third vessel room drops an Ebony Greatsword. I enchanted that with a 10pts Fire (fire works well v. undead), and combined that with a Ring of Wielding and my base 66 two-handed skill. Being that most dragon priests are tough as all getout, I had loaded myself with a level-up and boatloads of potions. As it turns out, all I needed was my Resist Shock Elixir. with that, he barely did 60 damage to me. Furthermore, I was able to kill him in 3 pwrattacks and another 6-8 normal hits. Don't stress this fight just because he's a Priest. Just get Resist Shock, and a 2h, and you'll be fine.

The article no longer states what shout the word wall is, I think this kind of information should be in the article. — Unsigned comment by 124.43.203.59 (talk) at 05:59 on 7 April 2013
When battling the (leveled) Draugr for the first Opaque Vessel, it was knocked to the ground and could not be picked up - it doesn't even show as an object. Adding the item by using the console didn't help: it doesn't appear to be a quest item. Bug? — Unsigned comment by GullyF (talk • contribs) at 06:49 on 19 May 2013
I got up from the throne and entered sneak before Hevnoraak bursted out of his coffin. Undetected, I grabbed my bow, aimed an arrow and fired... straight through him. He continued to be unaffected by my arrows, so I got out of sneak and equipped my dual-wielded one-handed swords, but the Dragon Priest completely ignored me. So I power-attacked him, which made him hostile and killed him before he had time to react (I kinda love tempering weapons and hoarding perks). I then turned to the ghost to complete the quest and turned around, but the only thing on the ground was his staff. No ash pile, no hull, no further loot.
In short: I went into sneak before Hevnoraak got up, which seemed to:
I followed the walkthrough on this page step by step (didn't feel crwaling through another draugr crypt) and did nothing unusual during the quest. I have not reduplicated the circumstances to re-test and cannot confirm the sneaking was the cause of the bugs. If needed, I can easily try again under the same circumstances since I hard-saved right before getting on the throne.
EDIT: I just found his ash pile floating three meters up in the air and his hull on the ground a couple of meters away from it, probably spawned at the same location and fell and rolled. This part of the bugginess could as well have been caused by some graphics mod I downloaded, which seems to displace more things around the world (most commonly leaves, brushes and Adrianne Avenicci). This does not solve the first two aspects of the bug though.

As far as I can see, the vessels are in a linear order. I don't understand how you would ever have to backtrack. – Robin Hood(talk) 12:55, 6 August 2014 (GMT)
This is listed as a bug, but it's stage 50. You need to complete stage 60, talk to the ghost. — Unsigned comment by 107.167.109.191 (talk) at 03:21 on 3 January 2018 (UTC)

Through the first entrance of Valthume, there will be a ghost named Valdar who gives this quest.
Once this quest is completed the Dragonborn will have gathered three Opaque Vessels filled with a substance...
... which must then be poured into a sconce (shown in quest). Then proceed to sit in Hevnoraak's throne. The dragon priest, Hevnoraak, will then rise out of its coffin demonstrating his ire.
Once defeated, there is a passage near the coffin which leads to a word wall containing the word Yah (Seek) which is part of the shout Aura Whisper.
